Navrongo market victims to receive support

Victims of the Navrongo central market firestorm could soon receive financial support from the assembly to get back into business.

The victims whose stores and wares were destroyed by the firestorm are expected to receive the support after the assembly collates data on the affected victims.

Speaking to Citi FM, the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Emmanuel Andema said, “The assembly has began registering victims and the move is intended to provide them with financial support to get back to business.”

Meanwhile, a five member committee has been put in place to investigate the cause of the disaster.

Hon. Emmanuel Andema pleaded with the victims to place premium on the registration exercise for their own good.

He said the assembly was carrying out the exercise in collaboration with the Upper East regional NADMO.
