Navrongo, March 31, GNA – The Navrongo Secondary School (NAVASCO) branch of The United Nations Students and Youth Association (GUNSA) at the weekend undertook a clean-up campaign at the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo. Addressing the students after the exercise, Mr. Joseph Boom, Principal Nursing Officer, on behalf of the hospital administration commended the students for their voluntary spirit and urged them to keep it up.

Mr. Boom called on other student associations to emulate the example of GUNSA adding that cleanliness is next to Godliness.

Mr. Vincent Ataarem, branch patron said the Association has a regular activity of rendering voluntary service in the community to awaken the public’s awareness to filth, and especially the disposal of polythene bags, which he said was a threat to the environment. Mr. Ataarem said the Association chose the hospital because members wanted to wish the patients speedy recovery and also ensure that they lived in clean environment.
