Naval Offier Dies On Duty

A swimming instructor in the Ghana Navy, Chief Petty Officer (CPO) class one, Amezi died and four others survived on Monday, when a naval boat capsized whilst attempting to cross a tidal wave at New Town, near Jehwi Wharf in the Western Region.

The Naval boat detachment, which was on an official routine patrol according to an eyewitness, was destabilished by initial waves as it attempted to slip off to sea.

In the process, it hurt CPO Amezi and made him unconscious and his colleagues gave him first aid before attempting to change course and return to shore, but the boat was hit by another strong wave, capsizing it immediately.
