National task force can’t fight galamsey alone – Fuseini

The government is calling for a collaborative effort in the fight against galamsey operators as the national task force alone cannot halt the practice.

According to the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, a task force set up by the Ministry to investigate operations has faced serious challenges.

The comments come in the wake of the deaths of over 16 galamsey operators at Kyekyewere in the Central Region.

In an interview with Citi News Alhaji Inusah Fuseini indicated that an end to galamsey operations would need a collective approach.

“You need the total involvement and collaboration of all stakeholders because we have a national task force on natural resources,” he said.

According to him, the national task force cannot embark on this project alone.
