National Service personnel donate to Nsawam hospital

Nsawam, Aug. 06, GNA – Mr Evans Asante Boadi, President of the Akuapem South Municipal National Service Personnel has called on Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), philanthropists and benevolent associations to provide financial and material assistance to medical centres and orphanages.

Mr Boadi made the call after presenting items including pineapples, oranges, bread and biscuits worth about GH¢80.00 to the Nsawam Government Hospital at the weekend. He said the items formed part of the National Service Week organised by the personnel.

Mr Boadi said about 500 personnel also swept the hospital and cleaned the children’s ward.

Madam Harriet Djeagbo, Principal Midwifery Officer and Acting Matron who received the items thanked the donors and called on others to emulate them.

Mr Joseph Sittor, Chief Executive Officer of the hospital appealed to other institutions to come to the aid of the hospital to complement the efforts of the government.
