National Service personnel donate to hospital

Nkoranza (B/A) August 9, GNA – National Service personnel in the Nkoranza District of the Brong-Ahafo Region on Friday presented quantity of food items valued at about 1.7 million cedis to the management of the Nkoranza St. Theresa’s Hospital towards the up keep of the patients.

The items were made up of 100 loaves of bread, four cartons of milk, two cartons of cube sugar, four crates of soft drinks and a box of Milo sachets.

Mr Raphael Alorwu, District Coordinator of the personnel, who made the presentation said the offer formed part of the annual weeklong National Service Programme and to create awareness to the people on know their roles and responsibilities in the communities.

He explained that the personnel managed to get funds for such donations through individual levies on members while other spirited persons, churches and organizations also supported them when they appealed to them for assistance.

The District Secretariat had on several occasions offered support to the defunct Royal Orphanage at Nkoranza.

Mr Alorwu commended all and sundry who offered financial support for them while celebrating their annual programme.
