National Security could’ve swapped pink sheets – NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused the National Security apparatus of lacking integrity, suggesting that the outfit was capable of changing all pink sheets being audited by international accounting firm, KPMG.

According to the party, the National Security by the way it conducted itself when the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), third respondents alleged that seven extra boxes had been added to those supposed to be audited as ordered by the Supreme Court, indicated they cannot be trusted.

Speaking on MINORITY CAUCUS Wednesday, the Coordinator of the Tertiary Students Education Confederation {TESCON} Isaac Acheampong posited that the security outfit would have tampered with the pink sheets exhibits had the court granted them their request to protect the boxes.

Mr Acheampong further questioned the credibility of the National Security saying, ‘‘I know deep within me that the NDC [through the security outfit] tried going there [where the pink sheet boxes were kept], and they were refused…”

“If the National Security were to be allowed to go to that premises… they would have changed all the pink sheets in that room, ” he maintained.

Mr. Acheampong wondered how the third respondent was able to tell the actual number of boxes under the custody of the court while KPMG at the time said it had not taken inventory of them.

KPMG is not aware of any inventory being taken; ….so NDC, how were they able to go to that room to count the number of boxes without the registrar? Where did they get the key?”

On his part, the host of the programme, Nana Kofi Oppong Damoah, said since the Electoral Commission and the NDC have admitted errors on the pink sheets, then the election of President Mahama was also an ‘error’ which must be corrected; because the NPP is in court to correct errors in the 2012 elections.
