National House of Chiefs worried

Kumasi, Aug. 15, GNA- The National House of Chiefs has expressed disgust at the current spate of destoolment and chieftaincy disputes in some parts of the country, which sometimes led to violent and bloody clashes.

Odeneho Gyapong Ababio 11, President of the House, appealed to kingmakers to apply appropriate traditional and customary procedures, in which an accused chief was given the opportunity to defend himself of herself, in all destoolements.

The President of the House who was speaking to GNA after a meeting of the House in Kumasi on Wednesday, appealed to all stakeholders in the chieftaincy institution to help find lasting solutions to problems that could result in chieftaincy disputes.

He said the number of chieftaincy disputes in the country did not speak well of the noble institution.
