Hohoe (V/R), Aug 30, GNA – Reverend Frank Anku, out-going Synod Clerk of the Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P) Church, Ghana, on Friday called on the youth in the Church to transform their life in fullness and be determined to make a difference wherever they find themselves. “Be a youth, who is poised to break new grounds, focused and committed and ready to re-visit your stewardship as a formidable group capable to serve in any capacity,” he said.
Rev Anku was addressing the 15th Annual National Delegates Congress of the E. P. Students’ Union (EPSU) at Hohoe.
The four-day Congress was on the theme: “Called To Serve,” and was being attended by more than 300 delegates from all the regions. Rev Anku urged the youth to serve God and humanity, devoid of apathy.
He also entreated them to support the Church’s leadership towards building a strong community of faith. “Refrain from pointing accusing fingers at the mode of worship, rather presume a lifestyle of joining hands in making worship come alive and more sanctified,” he reiterated.
He said the Church needed the latent talent, dream, time, money and stewardship of the youth in order to sail together “in a ship that is firm on the sea of life, under the banner of Christ”. Mr Prince Jacob Hayibor, Member of Parliament for Hohoe-North, urged Churches to mainstream the activities of the youth. He advised the youth to be assertive and channel their energies into productive ventures that would safeguard their future. Mr Johnson Kumitse, out-going President of EPSU, reminded the youth to be steadfast and prayerful in order to withstand the challenges brought about by globalization and technological advancement. He urged the electorate to seek God’s guidance and intervention for the destiny and choice of a leader for Ghana in the December general elections.
New National Executives would be elected as part of the Congress.
