Nashville SC Table Bid for Ghana’s Rising Star Maxwell Woledzi

Major League Soccer side Nashville SC have made a move for Ghanaian defender Maxwell Woledzi, submitting an official bid to Fredrikstad FK following his impressive campaign in Norway.

The 23-year-old centre-back has been one of Fredrikstad’s standout performers since joining the club in 2023, playing a crucial role in their historic domestic cup triumph, their first since 2006.

Woledzi’s consistency, composure, and leadership at the back have attracted attention from several European clubs, but Nashville SC are understood to be leading the race for his signature as they look to bolster their defensive options ahead of the new MLS season.

Sources close to the player say talks are progressing positively, after a breakthrough year for the Ghanaian international.

Woledzi, who has previously represented Ghana at youth level, has expressed a desire to take the next step in his career and test himself in a more competitive environment.

If the deal goes through, he will become the latest Ghanaian to feature in the MLS, joining a growing list of players making their mark in the United States’ top-flight league.

For Nashville, Woledzi’s arrival would signal both ambition and foresight, the addition of a young, battle-hardened defender with the potential to anchor their backline for years to come.
