Nasara Club vows to boost NPP’s appeal in the Zongos

The Nasara Club of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has vowed to work tirelessly to enhance the party’s attraction in the Zongo communities.

Alhaji Musah Zingi, the Ashanti Regional Coordinator, said they would do everything to help the people to see through the lies, deception and vile propaganda by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He said the often repeated political mischief that the “NPP is anti-Zongos” lacks both merit and substance and would not be allowed to stand.

Alhaji Zingi gave the assurance when the leadership of the Club paid a courtesy call on the Busanga Chief in Ashanti, Alhaji Osman Tanko, at Sabon-Zongo in Kumasi.

He said the eight-year administration of the NPP saw significant improvement in the lives of the people, citing pro-poor interventions like the National Health Insurance Scheme, Free Maternal Care, School Feeding, Capitation Grant and the National Youth Employment Programme.

These are verifiable legacies that could simply not be washed away by anybody.

He said the NPP could be trusted to bring transformation to the socio-economic situation of the people and that was why all Ghanaians should work together to bring the party back to power.

Alhaji Zingi said there could be nothing more refreshing than the pledge by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the NPP’s Presidential Candidate, to set up a Zongo Development Fund and to make Senior High School (SHS) education free.

He said nobody should be in doubt that this would bring tremendous progress to the Zongo communities.

Alhaji Tanko appealed for political tolerance to keep the country at peace and urged the youth to be wary of politicians, who would like to use them for their parochial interest as the nation inches towards the December presidential and parliamentary elections.

Everybody, he said, must act responsibly and play by the rules of decency, fairness and transparency to stave-off violence.

He also appealed to the various ethnic groups in the Zongos to unite and help promote peace and harmony in the communities.
