Napo: Mahama is king of all ‘dumsor’ Presidents

President John Mahama’s Government has had the longest tenure of erratic power supply, locally referred to as ‘dumsor,’ Manhyia MP of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh has asserted.

“He’s the President with the highest tenure of dumsor dumsor in this country.

“Actually, since John Mahama became president, all we know is dumsor dumsor.

“He should work very hard to alleviate the poverty…If there is no power, people can’t work, people can’t afford, so there’ll be armed robbery, there’ll be recklessness,” the Medical Doctor told Starr FM’s Isaac Bediako Justice in Kumasi in the Ashanti region after a meeting with his Constituents.

Ghana is currently reeling under infrequent power supply, which has necessitated a load management schedule for both domestic and industrial consumers.

Ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities, stakeholders in the state-owned power sector lessened the erratic nature of supply for domestic consumers against Industry.

Dr Prempeh has condemned that decision and described it as a disaster.

“A nation that can put the lights on to watch football, cannot provide light for small medium and large scale factories. It is a disaster.

“He doesn’t know what he’s about,” ‘Napo’ as Dr Opoku Prempeh is popularly known said.

“How can you provide light for watching football, entertainment and you cannot provide light for business or power for business? It’s only in Ghana that you hear such a thing and it tells you the type of governance system that we are having for ourselves.
