Nana’s crowd were bused to his rally at Keta – NDC MP

The National Democratic Congress(NDC) Member of Parliament for the Keta constituency, Richard Quarshigah has dispelled notions that the Volta region has fallen to the opposition New Patriotic Party.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is said to have received a rousing welcome in the Volta region with scores of people thronging to hear him.

Commenting on the claims by some section of the public, Mr Quashigah said the NDC still controls the Volta region and solid on the grounds as ever contrary to the perception being held by some people.

He’s however challenged what has been described as the massive crowd the NPP 2016 Presidential Candidate pulled during his tour to the Keta Municipality.

According to him, the scores of people who turn in to meet Akufo-Addo were bused from the southern part of the volta region just to create the impression of a wide support base for the NPP in the Volta region ahead of the elections.

“If you bus people from all over the Southern zone from Akatsi, Ketu North, Ketu south for all these people to congregate at the Anloga market on a market day, you have achieved nothing- It’s cos ninety. On a market day and you decided to hold your rally within the market, what do you expect. Of course those who have come to market would want to see what is going on, so it is not surprising at all.” the lawmaker told Accra-based Citi FM.
