Nana Ohene Ntow escapes assassination attempt

A former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Ohene Ntow, was reportedly attacked by an unknown assassin on Wednesday night at his residence in Accra.

Narrating his ordeal to an Accra based radio station, Nana Ntow lamented that “At about 2 a. m., I was asleep in my room and usually I would lock my bedroom door before I go to sleep; I realized someone was trying to force it open. I thought it was my young son, so I started calling his name and I hadn’t opened the door yet and he didn’t respond.”

“So I was surprised because usually when he tries to open my door and I call him he responds, fortunately I had locked the key so I just kept quiet in the room for a while and then somebody started saying, ‘open the door’ and I said who are you, he said ‘if you don’t open the door I will force it.

“I opened the door and here was this gentleman masked with a machete and another thing that looked like a pistol and he said he had been sent to come and kill me, but I looked like a pastor so he was not going to kill me but whatever money I have I should bring it”.

He however could not disclose how much was taken from him, except to say “I have reported the case to the police station”.
