Nana Konadu will still contest December polls – NDP

The National Democratic Party says its flagbearer Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings will still contest in the December polls despite her being disqualified by the Electoral Commission.

Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Afari Gyan on Thursday rejected the nomination forms of the party saying they failed to satisfy all the requirements.

But Deputy Communication’s Director of the NDP, Owusu Bempah says the omissions on their form were minor errors which arose as a result of an oversight.

Mr. Bempah says the NDP is geared up for the December polls stating that what happened at the Electoral Commission was an oversight.

“It was an oversight, the first one was filled, the second one was filled and the third one was filled, it was left with only two constituencies and unfortunately that was an oversight.

“That is a human error and that is nothing” Mr. Owusu Bempah said.

Meanwhile, pollster Ben Ephson it is likely that the National Democratic Party (NDP) will join another party other than the NDC in the presidential elections.

This follows the inability of the NDP to duly complete filling nomination forms for its presidential candidate.

Pollster Ben Ephson in an interview with XYZ News said the NDP is likely to work with another political party against the chances of the NDC in the upcoming elections.
