Ghana midfielder Nana Boateng has joined Krasava ENY from Romanian club Petrolul on a free transfer, moving to the Cyprus League after signing a contract that runs until 31 May 2027.
The 32-year-old defensive midfielder becomes the latest addition to Krasava ENY’s squad after leaving Petrolul, whom he joined in January 2026. Boateng’s move was completed on 4 September, bringing an end to his spell in Romania and securing his next club-level challenge.
Boateng is a right-footed midfielder who can operate in a holding role. He was born in Accra and stands 1.80m tall, with his experience including spells across Europe and Asia.
Before joining Petrolul, Boateng spent two seasons with South Korean side Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. He was part of the team that won the South Korean league and cup double in the 2024-25 season, having moved to Jeonbuk from Romanian club CFR Cluj in July 2023 for a fee of €1m.
His time at CFR Cluj also brought domestic success. Boateng helped the club win the Romanian championship in the 2021-22 season after arriving from Finnish side KuPS for €125,000. With KuPS, he won the Finnish Cup in 2021.
The midfielder’s career also includes a Norwegian league title with Strømsgodset in 2013. He initially joined the club from Manchester City’s youth system on loan in August 2012, having moved to England from Ghanaian academy Right to Dream the previous year. He later spent time with Manchester City’s under-23 side before making a permanent move to Colorado in January 2017.
Boateng now returns to Cyprus after beginning the 2026-27 campaign in Romania. He had not played in the Romanian Cup or SuperLiga before completing his switch to Krasava ENY.
The transfer gives Krasava ENY an experienced Ghanaian presence in midfield, with Boateng bringing league and cup-winning experience from Norway, Finland, Romania and South Korea. His contract with the Cypriot club is valid until the end of May 2027.
