Burial took place of the late Nana Akwasi Amoakohene I, a business executive, at his home town A gona Asamang, near Ejisu in the Kwabre district of Ashanti last Saturday.
The late Nana Amoakohene, aged 82, died at the Military Hospital in Accra on March 14, this year after a short illness.
He founded Rose Pillars Construction Company and the Safeway Group of Companies.
Preaching the sermon at his burial service, the Rev. James Obeng of the Evangel Church advised Ghanaians to live worthy lives in order to leave marks of distinction in their endeavours.
Reverend Obeng said the late Nana Amoakohene left a mark by serving his generation, adding that he offered his services to God by associating himself with all manner of people, irrespective of their status. Nana also left his faith in Jesus Christ, he added.
Mrs. Elizabeth Amoakohene, his wife, 19 children, 150 grand children and one great grand child survive him.
Also at the funeral were Mr. Kwabena Adjapong, government spokesman, Mrs. Grace Coleman, former deputy Minister of Finance and MP for Ashanti Efiduase, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, a minister of Defence in the NDC regime and Mr. B.A. Mensah, a businessman.
The mourners were later thrilled to some gospel songs by the Tagoe Sisters.
