Nana Addo’s tour in Tamale was witnessed by children – Azoka

The Northern regional chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sofo Azoka says the campaign tour by Nana Addo in Tamale and its environs was witnessed by children.

Aid to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, Musa Superior has described as historic Nana Addo’s tour of the Northern region as residents welcomed the opposition leader in a rousing way.

Musa Superior said: ”Tamale was undoubtedly unmatched. The crowd was huge, thick and historic. In fact, it was the biggest after Kumasi since we began the National Campaign tour. Akufo-Addo’s convoy drove nearly 4 hours from Savelugu, which normally will take under 3mins to travel to Tamale.

”At the Zogbeli JHS Park, the people danced happily whilst waiting for Akufo-Addo. By 7pm, the slowly driven convoy arrived at the Park. The people became uncontrollable when Nana stepped out of his car. Some cried! We ended the historic gathering at 9:10. It was fascinating and a super endorsement of the NPP.”

But responding to the comments by Musa, Sofo Azoka said, the huge crowd which the NPP is happy about were children below the voting age.

The outspoken politician said he would resign as presidential candidate for the NPP the moment he returns to Accra due to his unpopularity.

”When you ask his aids, they will not tell you the truth. So i want you to ask Nana Addo that, how many people came out to meet him? The NPP should speak the truth, they were not able to pull a massive crowd.”

Sofa Azoka said due to the suspension of Paul Afoko as national chairman, the faction within the party has deepened with followers of Afoko silent.

”Afoko has the majority in the region and those people are silent….Ask the security in the region, they will tell you that when Nana Addo toured the region, nobody came out to meet him apart from small small boys. They should speak the truth for once. They were disappointed in the number of people that came out to witness Nana’s campaign tour. Ask them how many hours they spent in the area, nobody came out to meet Nana Addo.”

When asked if he was not being mischievous with his comments considering the photos available to the public on Nana’s tour, Sofo Azoka said the pictures are old pictures meant to deceive the public.
