Nana Addo’s 2016 debate needless – Mustapha Hamid

An aide to the 2012 flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party has described as needless, the raging media debate as to whether Nana Akufo-Addo should run for the 2016 elections or not.

The party’s General Secretary started the debate when he told the media that the former Attorney General will run for the third time.

However, Mustapha Hamid speaking on Breakfast XYZ said Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie’s comments were only geared towards influencing the decision of Nana Akufo-Addo and not an attempt to impose him on the party.

He suggests that Nana Akufo-Addo should be given the necessary space and time to make up his mind rather than battle out the issue in the media.

Mustapha Hamid went further to refute assertions that Nana Akufo-Addo will lose again if he decides to run for 2016 because of his age, as argued by political science lecturer Kwesi Amakye.

Meanwhile, the Communications Director of the Greater Accra branch of the Party, Michael Ampong says the supporters are ready to rally behind whoever is capable of winning victory for the party in 2016.
