Nana Addo steps up campaign; Launches e-campaign

The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has officially launched his internet-based-campaign in Accra on Sunday.

The NPP flag bearer seized the occasion to introduce the general public to his social media networks, including Facebook page, Twitter and Youtube account, alongside his official website.

Nana Addo after the launch took a live question and answer session, with party faithful and well-wishers.

In an address, Nana Addo said the expansion of access to social networks has increased the awareness of the masses and opened the way for all policies and programmes to be ‘dissected and thoroughly discussed”.

While urging the citizenry to patronise his website-www. akufoaddo2012.com, he added feedbacks and reactions from the public would be crucial to the formulation of policies and interventions under his government.

“The good book says for lack of knowledge my people perish, so it is important that we all take advantage of the social media platforms to enlighten ourselves”, Akufo-Addo added.

He said, signing up to Facebook in 2007 has enabled him identify the concerns and problems of young people and promised to introduce policies that would address the bottlenecks impeding the growth of the economy.

Currently, it is estimated the NPP flag bearer has over 93, 500 Facebook friends and more than 100,000 twitter friends.

Present at the event which was streamed live on Metro TV and some radio stations and across the world via Youtube, were wife of vice presidential candidate of the NPP, Samira Bawumia, Dr. Konadu Apraku, National Youth Organizer of the party, Anthony Kabo and host of party bigwigs.
