Nana Addo right in turning down Addison – Ben Ephson

Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper Ben Ephson has commended Nana Addo for turning down a petition from the failed NPP Parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle, Lawyer Philip Addison over the just ended parliamentary primary in the constituency.

Mr. Ephson noted that Nana Addo’s action is a very good sign to help erase the perception of him not respecting the party’s structures. He said such an action can put to bed the perceived feud between him and the NPP’s General Secretary.

On Tuesday Nana Addo directed lawyer Addison to forward his petition to the General Secretary of the party Kwabena Agyepong, after he led a delegation made up of delegates and some of his supporters to the flag bearer’s home.

Among the issues he wanted probed include; the illegalities in the entire election process, uncertain date for voting and the fact that half of the delegates did not vote in the election.

Philip Addison lost his bid to become the NPP’s 2016 Parliamentary candidate for the Klottey Korle Constituency when he was trounced in the election that saw him poll a paltry 22 votes as against his main competitor Nii Nortey’s 393 votes. Adjei Tawiah the other aspirant had some 19 votes.

Ben Ephson was optimistic that should other leading members of the NPP follow suit, it will be a good start for uniting the party as it forges ahead for victory in 2016.
