Nana Addo: I won’t condone corruption in my gov’t

Leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given the strongest indication that persons who see service in government as an avenue for making money will have no place in his government should he be elected president in 2016.

“Their proper place is in the private sector, where money-making is a positive thing.”

Addressing a section of students of the University of Cape Coast over the weekend, Nana Addo reiterated that “I am not, have never been and will never be corrupt.”

Nana Addo will be attempting the presidency for the third time in 2016.

He has hinted of campaigning against corruption in government apart from the flagship free senior high school education.

He opined that the fight against corruption must begin with an incorruptible leader.

“I will lead a strong fight against corruption in this country,” he told the students mostly made up of members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), the student wing of the NPP.

He said he will bring to the presidency “an unblemished track record of personal integrity and fortitude.”

Nana Addo’s claims notwithstanding, a group calling itself Inside Ghana has filed a writ against him over what members say is the use of official vehicles for his 2008 campaign.
