Names don’t win elections – PPP cautions NDC

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) have indicated to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that contrary to their beliefs of some luck existing in the ‘John’, no hope lies in that assertion.

Since the inception of the fourth republic; Ghana has been ruled by Presidents with ‘John’ for first names.

The NDC, in its campaign, has been advocating that President Mahama should be elected President because of his first name, “John”.

However, the PPP at a press conference indicated that the NDC’s desperate attempts to personalize the name John to win votes, will fail.

Addressing the media, the Deputy Communications Director of PPP, Samuel Amoako said “the NDC’s efforts to wrongly use the letter J to woo the electorates will rather spell doom for them [NDC].”
