NADMO takes delivery of relief items

Kuntanase (Ash), Oct 18, GNA – The Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) on Friday took delivery of relief items and fire fighting equipment from the Ashanti Regional secretariat of the organisation for distribution. The items include, four fire extinguishers, two bags of rice, a box of Wellington boots, one packet of cutlasses, eight pieces of student mattresses and 20 blankets.

Mr. Daniel Asuo-Afram, the District NADMO Co-ordinator, who received the items, expressed his appreciation to the regional secretariat for the items.

He explained that the donation was in response to a request he made for support for storm victims in the district and other disasters, which had rendered a lot of people homeless.

Mr Asuo-Afram, however, appealed to Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), churches and other organisations to assist them to be able to assist those affected by the various disasters since the government alone cannot cater for all their needs. 18 Oct. 03
