NADMO goes to the aid of fire and flood victims with relief items

Tema, June 29, GNA – The Tema Metropolitan Directorate of the National Disaster Management organisation (NADMO) has presented relief items worth 2,500 Ghana cedis to 35 fire victims in Tema New Town. Most of them, living in wooden structures in the Homowo Electoral Area of New Town, got their properties burnt as a result of a fire outbreak in the area on May 29.

Hajia Zenabu Abdulai, Metro NADMO Co-ordinator presented the items made up of rice, maize, beans, roofing sheets, mattresses, cooking oil and soap, to the people.

Mr Wisdom Kodzo Gadasu, Assemblyman for the electoral area, thanked NADMO and promised that the items would be distributed evenly to the victims.

At the Aponkye Clinic area at Community Five, a similar presentation of relief items worth 2,000 Ghana Cedis was made to victims of the recent floods that hit the Metropolis as a result of the torrential rains on June 20.
