NADMO Co-ordinators urged to intensify education on disasters

Bolgatanga, July 24, GNA – Workers of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) have been urged to place emphasis on the preventive aspect of disasters in their public education campaigns. Distribution of relief items to victims should always come as the last resort, after a thorough assessment of the type of disaster and the extent of its impact on victims.

Mr. Asomaning Odei-Mensah, Chief Disaster Control Officer (CDCO) of the National Headquarters of NADMO, stated this at a day’s workshop organized for 21 NADMO Coordinators and staff of the Regional secretariat in Bolgatanga at the weekend.

He promised to convey the concerns raised by participants during the workshop to the National Coordinator for redress.

Mr. Anderson Anafor-Nabia, Upper East Regional Coordinator of NADMO, advised participants to take the lessons learnt at the workshop seriously to enable them to discharge their duties as expected of them. 24 July 04
