NADMO Cautions Kumasi Residents

Kumasi, April 24, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Secretariat of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) on Thursday appealed to residents, especially those who live in flood prone areas, to be wary of the onset of the rainy season and take precautionary measures to minimise effects of floods should they occur.

In a statement signed by Mr. Kofi Osei Amponsah, Regional NADMO Coordinator and issued in Kumasi on Thursday, NADMO urged residents, especially those in the Kumasi Metropolis and its environs, who live in flood prone areas to take measures, including possible evacuation to higher grounds during rainstorms.

It cautioned prospective land developers to as much as possible avoid building in water ways and flood prone areas.
