NADMO assists 37th Military Hospital with mattresses and blankets

Accra, June 9 GNA – The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) on Friday presented 100 pieces of mattresses and 100 pieces of blankets valued at 20 million cedis to the 37th Military Hospital in Accra.

The donation according to NADMO was prompted by the overwhelming pressure on the Hospital=92s facilities as a result of the influx of patients due to the strike action embarked upon by doctors and health workers at public hospitals.

Alhaji Sulemana Yiremea, Deputy National Coordinator of NADMO, who made the presentation, said the items were the Organisation’s little contribution to alleviate the suffering of patients, especially expectant mothers, who had to lie on the floor because there were no vacant beds at the Hospital.

He said as disaster managers, it was the duty of the Organisation to assist the Hospital to reduce the effect of the current situation on patients.

Colonel Comfort Baiden, Matron of the Hospital, who received the items, was grateful to NADMO for coming to their aid in its difficult times.

She urged other organisations to emulate the NADMO and assist the Hospital.
