NACOB receives generator

Accra, Dec.3, GNA – The Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) on Monday received a generator from the Federal Criminal Investigations Department of Germany in Accra to facilitate its work.

The President of the General Federal Criminal Police, Mr. Jorg Ziercke, who made the presentation on behalf of his outfit, said the donation was to keep the computers, printers and accessories provided for NACOB last year working during any power outage. Mr. Ziercke said, “to complete this project, you will further receive two combination devices for a telephone and a fax machine, adding that, in addition to the package, his outfit would provide a training programme in fighting drug-related crimes for the NACOB staff next year.

He said both Germany and Ghana were facing considerable challenges in fighting criminals.

Mr. Ziercke introduced Mr Dominik Muller, the new German Laison Officer to the Ghana Police Force and said his deployment in Accra was an important step towards improving the relationship between the two countries in fighting the international organised drug trafficking around the world.

Mr. Kwamena Bartels, Minister of the Interior received the donation and said Ghana appreciated the assistance and efforts put in by Germany in resourcing the NACOB to control crimes.
