My disqualification is unjustified – Kofi Adams

Mr. Kofi Adams spokesman for former President Rawlings has described his disqualification from contesting the Buem Constituency primaries as unjustifiable.

The decision to disqualify Mr. Adams was taken on Tuesday by the National Executive Committee of the NDC.

The Buem Constituency in the Volta Region became vacant after the sitting MP Henry Ford Kamel passed on.

Mr. Adams was suspended as a deputy General Secretary of the party in March last year following a leaked tape recording in which he was alleged to have said he would work to ensure late President Mills’ defeat.

It is suspected that his disqualification was based on his suspension.

Confirming his disqualification to XYZ News, Mr Adams condemned what he called disregard for procedure by the NEC in arriving at the decision.

“I am qualified so didn’t they put it to vote…there was no consensus, a lot of procedures have been breached as far as this matter is concerned.

“But I will sit down and assess it and see the way forward”.
