“My confidence in God and Ghanaians is resolute” – Mills

Accra, Nov. 29, GNA – President Evans Atta Mills on Sunday, said his confidence in God and in Ghanaians was resolute and would therefore rely on the unwavering support of the people to lead the nation to a destination that would improve their living standards. President Mills said, “A country that aligns herself to God stands to benefit from the blessings of God, but that which lends herself to the devil, faces reproach”.

The President made these remarks when he joined congregants at the Action Chapel International at the Spintex Road in Accra to worship before his departure to Tripoli, Libya to attend the third Africa-European Summit. He urged the congregants not to relent on their commitments to God and said Ghanaians had a lot to gain through their communion with God. Calling on Ghanaians from both sides of the political divide, President Mills said the love for one another and pooling of strengths together for a united nation was what Ghana needed, saying “For we are first and foremost Ghanaians”.

President Mills thanked God for his constant guidance and provision for Ghana and called on Ghanaians to continue to pray for the prosperity of the country. He said his confidence level was so high for Ghanaians and with their resolve and support Ghana would go places and be counted among the community of great nations.

President Mills thanked Ghanaians for their confidence and the support they had reposed in him and for choosing him as their leader. Reverend Jackie McCauley, the guest speaker, preached on the need for individuals to have self confidence and hope in God. Arch-Bishop Duncan Williams, the leader of the Church after the sermon, led other seasoned men of God and the congregation to offer special prayers for President Mills, his Cabinet and the nation. Later, President Mills inaugurated the Church’s new administrative block.
