Muslims urged to send their children to school

Kasapin (B/A), July 15, GNA – Alhaji Habib Abubakar, Chairman of Imams in the Asunafo District of Brong Ahafo has called on Muslims to secure a brighter future for their children by ensuring that they acquired quality education.

He advised Muslim parents to provide their children with their basic educational needs to sustain their interest in their education.

Alhaji Abubakar was presenting building materials worth two million cedis to the Muslim community as his personal contribution to a mosque project.

He expressed regret that the lukewarm attitude of Muslims in Ghana towards secular education had led to their disinterest in white-collar jobs as compared to their Christian counterparts.

The Chairman of Imams urged the Muslim community at Kasapin to establish motivational packages including scholarships for deserving students to help bridge the yawning gap between Muslims and Christians on the labour market.

Alhaji Habib Abubakar warned Muslims against politicians who might want to exploit their ethnic and religious geniality for their personal advantage, warning that, “they can create chaos and anarchy to disturb the relative peace we now enjoy”.

Alhaji Adamu Saara, chief of the Muslim community at Kasapin expressed gratitude to the chairman and urged other Muslim opinion leaders to emulate him.
