Muslims urged to deepen beliefs, honesty

Lt Colonel Umar Sanda Ahmad (rtd), a former Chief Imam of the Ghana Armed Forces, urged Muslims to use the lessons of Ramadan to deepen their spiritual beliefs and commit to actions that demonstrate honesty.

Speaking at IFTAR 2014 session organised by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for its Muslim workers, he said Ramadan was a serious significant exercise, adding it was during Ramadan that Muslims must radiate the highest level of honesty.

He said Ramadan set the stage to aim for perfection and urged them to use the spiritual gains they had received during the period to help transform their relationship.

Lt-Col Ahmad urged the officers of the Ghana Revenue Authority to be mindful of poor conduct and to take steps to ensure that they did not compromise their position to meet their needs.

Alhaji Y.A. Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner Human Resource of GRA, said the workers had come together to say thanks to Allah for the fasting period and urged Muslims to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by management.

Mr G.K. Katamani, Commissioner Support Services GRA, congratulated the workers for undergoing the month-long fast, adding that fasting brought holiness and peace.

He called for peace and stability among workers in the workplace and appealed to them to strive for higher heights to meet targets and enjoy the benefits.

There were prayers for the country and staff of the GRA.
