Kumasi, Jan 10, GNA – Sheikh Amen Bonsu, Second National Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission, on Tuesday called on Muslims to be more patriotic and contribute their quota towards the socio-economic development of the country.
He said as they celebrated the Eid-ul-Adha, they should reflect on the sacrifice Abraham wanted to make to God and to help in national and societal development.
Speaking to the GNA after Muslim worship to mark the occasion at Islamic Secondary School Park in Kumasi, Sheikh Bonsu appealed to Muslims not only to be law-abiding but also to do all that they could to ensure peace and unity in the country. He called on the Muslims youth to refrain from anti-social activities and to work hard, to respect the aged, be disciplined and to be holy.
Sheikh Bonsu stressed the need for Muslims to participate actively in community development projects and also ensure that they support the needy and the poor in society. Sheikh Bonsu, who is also the Director of Amen Scientific Herbal Clinic, advised Muslims to embrace the National Health Insurance Scheme.
