Muslims urged to avoid negatives tendencies

Accra, Jan. 10 GNA – Muslims throughout the country are on Tuesday celebrating Eid-Ul-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice. In Accra, Muslims, who turned out in beautiful dresses, went to several open spots where they offered prayers.

The festival commemorates the sacrifice that Ibrahim (Abraham) made to God centuries ago.

The sacrifice proved the faith of Abraham as well as his submission to Allah.

At the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, Sheikh Idveeb Abdul-Rahama, Greater Accra Chief Imam, called on Muslims to avoid all negatives tendencies and to work towards peace and stability of the nation. He said Ghanaians must thank Allah for sparing it harrowing situations that many nations across the world went through and pray for His mercy for this year.

Sheikh Abdul-Rahama, who led Muslims in prayers, called for Allah’s protection and blessing for the leaders of the country in order to bring prosperity and development to the people.

He said Allah should also crown the efforts of his children with success and good things in the coming year.

Sheikh Abdul-Rahama slaughtered a ram to signify the sacrifice that Abraham made to God.
