Muslims urged not to drag Allah’s name into disrepute.

Gomoa Potsin, (C/R), Aug. 24, GNA – The Special Assistant to the Central Regional Minister, Mr Ishaque Essilfie has called on Muslims not to allow a few misguided people to drag the name of Allah into disrepute.

Mr Essilfie urged them to strive to prove skeptics who held the view that Islam is a violent religion wrong. He was addressing the 20th Central Regional Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association (Majlis Ansarullah) at Gomoa Potsin at the weekend.

The theme for the two-day conference was, “the role of Ansarullah in maintenance of peace.”

Mr Essilfie deplored unwarranted confrontations between Muslims of different sects and urged the leadership of the religion to ensure that those unhealthy rivalries have become things of the past. “The price for peace is so high that nobody or nation would like to lose it”, he said.

On indiscipline in society, the Special Assistant urged Muslims to be ambassadors in the crusade launched by the Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama.

Maulvi Abdul Ghaffar Ahmed, the Central Regional Missionary said “the nation could not progress if injustice dominated our actions and inactions.”

He said the nation would enjoy absolute peace when injustice is done away with.

“People are suffering because they do not have access to some basic needs due to injustice their fellow citizens have inflicted on the nation”.

The missionary urged Muslims to rise up and fight injustice in the Society.

Mr Hussain K. Asoppiah, the Regional President of the Association called for religious tolerance and urged Ghanaians to regard each religion as an institution for serving the one and only God.
