Muslims must use festival for peace

Techiman, (B/A) Feb. 4 GNA- Maulvi Yusuf Bin Salih, Brong Ahafo Regional Missionary in-charge of Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission has called on Muslims to use the celebration of the Edil Ul Adha festival to foster peace and unity amongst them.

He said this would help accelerate the reconciliation and progress of the country.

The Missionary made the call when he led more than 2000 Ahmadis in prayers at Techiman to mark the festival.

He urged Moslems to be proud of being descendants of Ibrahim (Abraham) “whose sense of righteousness has brought fame and recognition to you”.

Maulvi Bin Salih asked Moslems to reflect and ponder over what sacrifices they could make and charged them to avoid tendencies that could bring the Islamic religion into disrepute.

Addressing more than 500 members of the Al-Lussuna sect at the Gyarko School Park, the Imam, Alhaji Alhassan-Musah, noted that the festival was a unifying event and urged them to be courageous as Ibrahim and fight against wrongs in the society.

He advised Muslim youth to use their youthful exuberance to enhance the spiritual and socio-economic advancement of the nation.

Alhaji Abudulai Mohammed, Chief Imam of Techiman, leading a congregation of about 2000 at the Zongo school park, advised Moslems to be truthful and refrain from unnecessary disputes that could generate conflicts.
