Muslims asked to look for the new moon

Accra, Oct. 23, GNA – All Muslims throughout the country have been asked to look for the new moon on Friday, the 24th of this month for the commencement of the Ramadan Fasting.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Sheikh M. Gadel, the Chairman of the National Hilal Committee said if the new moon were sighted there would be a special news flash to inform all Muslims in the country.

It also said the same news would be given if the moon is not sighted.

The statement called on all Muslims to join in the fasting.
