Murder suspect discharged for lack of evidence

Accra, March 3, GNA – An Accra Circuit Court has discharged Sheriff Yusif Adams, held for the murder of Police Constable Donald Geraldo for lack of evidence.

The Criminal Investigative Division (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in a statement on Monday, said this followed an application by the prosecution to discharge him.

Constable Geraldo of the Police Headquarters died shortly after a bullet hit him during an operation to arrest land guards on 17th December 2004.

The statement signed for the Director of CID said forensic investigation revealed that an AK 47 rifle bullet killed him. It stated that further investigation was being carried out to establish the circumstances leading to his death.
