Murder cases soar between 2014 & 2015

Statistics released by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. John Kofi Kudalor, indicate that a total of one thousand and sixty eight (1,068) high profile murder cases were recorded in Ghana between 2014 and 2015.

The IGP revealed further that between 2014 and 2015, over two thousand, one hundred and twenty seven (2,127) robbery cases were also recorded in the country.

Additionally, Mr. Kudalor disclosed that nine hundred and twenty nine (929) rape cases were recorded in those years whiles about one million and fifty four thousand, two hundred and thirty (1,054,23) defilement cases were brought to the attention of the police.

Mr. Kudalor disclosed this while addressing police officers at an annual get-together party known as West Africa Security Service Association (WASSA) celebration in Accra over the weekend.

The occasion also enabled the police officers to socialise, interact and make merry after a lengthy mandated and hectic year’s work as law enforcement officers.
