Municipal Chief Executive confirmed

Sekondi, April 7, GNA – The Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly on Wednesday unanimously confirmed Captain Anthony Cudjoe (Rtd) as its Metropolitan Chief Executive.

All the 70 members of the assembly voted for him. Capt Cudjoe said he recognised the enormity of challenges that the assembly faced and appealed for support to push forward the development agenda of the assembly.

“The show of solidarity and uniformism this morning attest to your readiness to win the battle. The work ahead indeed requires networking and we will re-strategize to get things done”, he said. Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, Western Regional Minister, commended the assembly members for their sense of purpose and urged them not to be influenced by partisan politics in the discharge of their duties. Mr. Aidoo appealed to assembly members not to seek favour in terms of award of contracts because this could create problems. Mr. Mamoud Ali, the Presiding Member, re-echoed the need to move the metropolis forward in order to meet the development needs of the area and the region as a whole.
