Municipal Assembly issues directive on NHIS cards

Ho, April. 17, GNA – The Ho Municipal Assembly had given all heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), operating within the municipality up to April 30, this year, to submit the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), picture registration forms of all staff for processing.

A circular signed by Mr Prosper Pi-Bansa, Municipal NHIS Manager said the reminder was necessitated by the slow pace at which the institutions were responding to the submission of the forms.

It said failure to meet the deadline would “further delay the issuance of Health Insurance ID cards and access to healthcare under the scheme”.

Another directive asked all heads of the MDAs to furnish the Municipal Secretariat of the NHIS in Ho with the name and Social Security number of all staff in their establishments. It said the information was urgently needed to facilitate the smooth implementation of the NHIS in the municipality.
