Mumumi Wheeled Away

In his first public appearance on the National Democratic Congress platform after his near fatal accident, the party?s presidential running-mate, Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni, last Saturday could not survive the rigours of political campaigns. Alhaji Mumuni was wheeled away in a wheelchair at the end of the Greater Accra, NDC campaign launch at Mantse Agbonaa, with pains showing on his countenance, suggesting that he is yet to fully recover from the fracture he suffered. He also fell down at the chief Imam?s residence when he paid a courtesy call on the cleric last Friday.

His crutches could not support him so fell to the ground. Arriving at the well-attended NDC campaign launch at 3:20pm and limping with the support of crutches, Alhaji Mumuni was accorded a tumultuous welcome when his name was announced. In the company of his wife, Victoria and dressed in white kaftan he walked straight to a seat provided for him. However, the organizers would not allow him to rest as they beckoned him to greet the teeming supporters who had thronged the rally ground. Alhaji Mumuni summoned courage in his Robocop-like crutches to mount the platform. The spirit to climb the platform was there, but the body weak.

He was eventually physically lifted on to the stage and put in a wheelchair. That was the beginning of the problem as Alhaji Mumuni who stormed Mantse Agbonaa in crutches ended up being wheeled away at the end of the rally.
