Multiple crash on N1

Six cars were involved in an accident on the George Walker Bush Highway on Monday March 14, 2016.

The crash happened on a wet morning during the rush hour when one commercial mini bus rammed into a bus belonging to AGATE Transport Services on the Dzorwulu-Achimota stretch of the N1.

Accra News’ Isaac Sam told Chief Jerry Forson on Ghana Yensom that four speeding vehicles realised the crash ahead of them and successively run into the two cars, resulting serious damages.

He said the situation created a gridlock on the highway. Two drivers involved in the accident escaped with their cars before police arrived at the scene.

Meanwhile, a police officer, Sergeant Eric Asare, who happened to be at the scene, arranged for the damaged cars to be towed to the Airport Police Station while electing to direct traffic to ease the congestion the accident had created.

No injuries were recorded.
