Mt Moriah Presby Singing Band Union inaugurated

The singing band of the Mount Moriah Congregation of the Presbyterian Church, Danfa, was on Sunday inaugurated to be officially recognized within the Ga Presbytery and at the National level.

The singing band in the Presbyterian Church plays a major role during church service, with their unique songs, instruments and even their way of dancing.

Mr Victor Kofi Anim, President of the Ga Presbytery Singing Band Union, who inaugurated the group, admonished the members to use their talents to attract more people to Christ.

He said: “The singing band plays a major role in the organization of church services within the Presbyterian Church, so I advise you that in addition to singing you should also be prayerful.”

Ms Bernice Asiedu, Secretary of the Group, said the Mt. Moriah Singing Band started with five members but now has over 25 members and urged members of the congregation who love to sing to join.

Rev Daniel Kwesi Ayim, Pastor in charge of the Mt. Moriah Congregation, in a sermon on the theme: “Christ our Living Bread,” urged members of the Church “to totally depend on God as their source of bread.”

“His name is Jehovah Jireh, and He is a provider,” he said, and called on Christians to seek the bread that Christ gives to his children.

Rev. Ayim used the occasion to induct nine executive officers of the group into office.

Members of the Singing Band led the church with songs in an appeal for fund, which yielded over GH?2000.00, whiles other singing band groups presented cheques as seed money for the group.

Citations were also given to committed and long serving members.
