The information minister, Nana Akomea has challenged the former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to prove how her cell phone and that of her husband was bugged.
?I do not know how cell phones are bugged and it is important for Mrs Rawlings to tell us?.
Nana Akomea said, it is not enough for Mrs Rawlings to say that her cell phone has been bugged, that everybody can say, but I think as former first lady, if she has useful information as to how cell phones are bugged, she should share with us. The information minister was reacting to comment by Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings on Peace FM?s morning show programme ?Kokrokoo? on Wednesday, 21st April 2004.
Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, once the most powerful woman in Ghana in an interview with a sister radio station in Accra said, her cell phone and that of her husband Jerry Rawlings has been bugged but did not go further. She however blamed the ruling NPP.
