Mrs Ama Benyiwa-Doe tours her constituency

Apam (C/R), Sept. 17, GNA – The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West constituency, Mrs Ama Benyiwa-Doe has visited some communities in the constituency to share ideas with the people on their development programmes.

Mrs Benyiwa-Doe also explained the work of members of the opposition in Parliament to them.

She urged the people to erase the notion that members of the opposition are enemies of the government.

“Rather, it is the opposition, which helps the government to straighten the rough edges of its administration,” she said.

It is also not true that MPs in opposition do not have anything to offer to their constituents.

The MP donated some items, including electric bulbs, shovels, rakes, wheel-barrows to some of the communities to improve upon their street lighting system and sanitation.

At Apam, Mrs Benyiwa-Doe joined the citizens in a clean-up exercise organised as part of activities marking their annual Akwanbo festival. She appealed to them to make the exercise a regular feature.

The other communities she visited are Brofoyedur, Mankoadze, Anyanful, Techiman, Odina, Dunkwa and Ollefleku.
