Mrs Adotey files appeal

Solicitors for Mrs Rebecca Adotey, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency, yesterday filed an application for stay of execution pending an appeal against an Accra High Court’s ruling quashing the 1996 parliamentary election results declared in that constituency.

The court, presided over by Mrs Justice Agnes Dordzie, on Monday gave the ruling in the case in which Mr George Isaac Amoo, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, challenged the basis for the compilation of the results which declared Mrs Adotey, the National Demoncratic Congress (NDC) candidate, the winner.
