MPs appeal for peace in Talensi/Nabdam

The MPs for the Talensi and Bolgatanga Constituencies, John Tia and David Apasera have issued a statement appealing to the people of Gonno and Togo-Beo in the Talensi/Nabdam District to exercise some restraint in the disagreement between them.

The MPs have called on the Chiefs and opinion leaders from the area to urgently come together to foster peace and find an amicable solution to the disagreement.

In a statement jointly signed by the two MPs expressed concerned about the situation and said nothing should be done to disturb the peace and tranquility that exists amongst the peace loving people of the Bonaboto area.

The statement commended the security agencies for the swift manner they moved in to prevent what otherwise could have a calamity and urged them to do all they could to restore peace to the area.

They also urged the Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive, Rockson Bukari and the Acting Upper East Region Minister, Mahama Salifu also responsible for the Talensi/Nabdam District Assembly to take swift measures to resolve the dispute.

The MPs reiterated their commitment to the peace and development of the area and ask the people to bury their differences and allowed peace to prevail in the communities.
