Mpohor MP denies influencing the area’s DCE appointment

Mr. Alex Agyekum, Member of Parliament of Mpohor Constituency in the Western region, has debunked claims that he fictitiously influenced the appointment process of Mpohor district chief executive.

On Connect FM’s Thursday Morning News, the former NPP chairman of Mpohor Constituency, Mr. George Bernard Eshun, who was a contender to the DCE post, accused Mr. Agyekum of assigning some people to compile particulars of some NPP polling agents and later presented it to the presidency as an evidence of protest against him (Eshun).

His accusation follows the publication of the 212 MMDCEs by the president on Wednesday, which named Ignatius Asaah Mensah as the DCE nominee for Mpohor.

But Mr. Agyekum has described the allegation as childish talk, noting that it is impossible for him to influence the appointment process.

He was reacting to the allegation on Asem Yi Dzi Ka, Connect FM’s week-day political program hosted by Henry Eluide Yankey on Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Alex Agyekum also flatly denied assigning some individuals to compile particulars of NPP polling agents.
